The University of Kansas’ 28th annual “Late Night in the Phog” was last Friday night at Allen Field House. This was the first time fans and the media got a chance to see the men’s and women’s teams in action when they officially opened their 2012-13 seasons.

Kansas’ 100th homecoming game has been slated to kick off at 11 a.m. on October 27. The Jayhawks will be taking on the Texas Longhorns as they try to win their first conference game in over two years.

The Free State High School gymnastics team won the Sunflower league championship for the second straight year last Saturday. The Firebirds beat out host school Olathe East by less than one point. Both schools will compete in the state tournament this Saturday.
