Former Kansas basketball coach Roy Williams had surgery to have a tumor removed from his right kidney on Wednesday, September 19. The procedure took about three and a half hours, and Williams expects to be healthy enough to coach this season.

Terry Mohajir, an associate athletic director at the University of Kansas, has been hired by Arkansas State University of become the new athletic director. Mohajir has worked at KU since May 31, 2011.

University of Kansas volleyball coach Ray Bechard won his 950th game as a coach on Thursday, when the Jayhawks defeated Creighton three sets to two. His record now stands at 950 wins and 264 losses.
