Take Your Pick: The MLB Allstar Game

July 10, 2012 by kujhawk

This year’s game features a “new look” you could say, with young, rising stars like Bryce Harper, Mike Trout, Jose Altuve and Starlin Castro. But as there always is, all-star staples remain such as Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, Prince Fielder and Chipper Jones. It’s always hard to pick these games, the pitching is great and as they say, good pitching beats good hitting. Usually it comes down to one player making one big play. Either a crazy catch, like Torii Hunter made on Barry Bonds in 2002, or a big home run like the one Garret Anderson hit in 2003. This year I see that exact thing happening – a big home run. I expect Mark Trumbo to hit a big late-inning homer to secure a 4-3 victory for the American league, their first win in three years at a great ballpark in Kansas City.

If you would like to email me about anything I’ve written, you can do so by emailing me at misterbar333@yahoo.com or contact me on twitter @Ev_Dunbar. I would love feedback and advice on what I can do better or what I should be doing more or less of!

The celebrity/all star softball game was a lot of fun to watch. Bill Self hit a homerun.

Can’t believe La Russa is not starting the knuckleballer with the best record in the NL
Guess he remembers Charlie Hough’s all star debacle
